Gartner has once again highlighted simulation as a top strategic technology for business success and points to the ability to ‘predict the future outcomes’ of actions as the key to ‘unlocking significant business improvements’.

Gartner is the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, and their analysts are viewed as the soothsayers of the business world. What they say goes!

Simulation appears under the heading of Next Generation Analytics in Gartner’s  Top 10 Strategic Technolgies for 2011. Gartner states, “It is becoming possible to run simulations or models to predict the future outcome, rather than to simply provide backward looking data about past interactions, and to do these predictions in real-time to support each individual business action.”

This is great news for simulation users as we’re already ahead of the game, and it’s great to see the benefits of simulation being recognised for mainstream business applications.
