Winter Simulation Conference 2022, Singapore, Asia (December 11th-14th)
This year, the Winter Simulation conference will be held in Asia for the very first time! You can join virtually or on-site at Marina Bay Sands, the iconic landmark of Singapore in one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities in Asia.
With the theme of ‘Reimagine Tomorrow’ the conferences rely on significant advancement from many fields, such as modelling, experimentation and data analysts coming together to tackle various challenges. Scientific papers and case studies which highlight innovations in both theory and applications are welcome, with a specific focus on the use of not only simulation but also related technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality. Learn more about the conference here.
Simulation Consultant at Simul8, Andrew Wylie, said: “I had a fantastic time at Wintersim 2021 in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. It was a fantastic opportunity to take in the academic and industry applications of simulation, and in particular, seeing the use of Simul8 from our vast user-base. Whether it was through brief anecdotes during conversation, or detailed presentations from esteemed scholars and experienced professionals, I was able to gain a new understanding of the power of simulation, the impact we at Simul8 make and take a glimpse into potential avenues we can explore!”

Tom Stephenson, Director of Services and Strategic Partnerships at Simul8 says: “It’s great this conference specifically focuses on healthcare, where we know many modellers face the same challenges and pressures. It was really beneficial to be in an environment where any new issues and trends can be discussed with peers, especially as there were so many other professionals improving healthcare with different problem solving methodologies. It was especially interesting for me to consider how Simul8 and lean methodologies can work in synergy with each other, encouraging me to immediately produce a simulation that showed lean concepts in healthcare.”
Simulation Workshop, National Oceanographic Center 2023, Southampton (March 27th-29th)

2023 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference, Gaylord Rockies, Colorado, USA (April 16th-18th)
Informs Regional Analytics Conference is the leading international platform for Operations Research and Analytics professionals. It is dedicated to promoting best practices and advances in operations research, management science, and analytics. As the world’s largest professional association, INFORMS and its members work to improve operational and decision-making processes and outcomes. Learn more about the conference here.
Frances Sneddon, CTO at Simul8 says: “This conference is smaller than the annual meeting and industry-focused, with most delegates being practitioners. Because it is smaller it’s a great event for connecting with people from other organizations. A lot of effort goes into facilitating networking between delegates. The talks are all really great as there is a vetting process. I’d really recommend this event for anyone in ORMS, I come away with new ideas every single time I go!”
EURO Practitioner’s Forum 4th Annual Conference, Zuse Institute, Berlin (April 20th-21st)
The 4th annual EURO practitioners conference will explore the use of OR techniques in unpredictable situations that can lead to disruptive changes to established processes. Talks by plenary speakers will cover a wide range of aspects, including a discussion of AI and Quantum Computing, as well as reactions to worldwide disease spread and geopolitical challenges, such as the recent crisis that has put pressure on the global supply chain. The conference invites submissions on subjects that showcase the use of OR techniques in the face of disruptive changes, explaining how existing solutions could be adapted or which new solutions have been developed to cope with previously unseen challenges. Attendees of the conference can promote their skills and organization by giving a case study presentation, learning new techniques and improving their OR network. Learn more about the conference here.
Jessica Aiani, Simulation Consultant at Simul8 says: “This is such a great conference for those haven’t attended many before. Its focused on operational research but in more recent years has a really strong data science attendance. It’s smaller than other conferences and its unique in that its dedicated to people early in their OR career. It’s a great place to meet people at a similar stage in their career as you, and a great event to have a first go at presenting at a conference.”
The OR Society’s Annual Conference, University of Warwick 2023 (date TBC)
